On a bright morning of
September 11, 2014, under blue skies similar to those that shone on this day thirteen years ago, the Father Duenas community gathered for a memorial service to pray, remember and celebrate.
The FDMS NJROTC was on hand to set the tone for the memorial, with all members in full dress. The honor guard presented the flags and gave a 21-gun salute in solemn precision. Father Efren spoke his rememberances as an Air Force captain and chaplain at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Lt. Col. Ron Eisel reminded the students that they were between the ages of one and five on 9/11, and presented a slide show of life around Ground Zero in the days following the attacks. Fr. Jeff led the community in prayer, and the Seniors led the alma mater.
