On April 26, 2017 the Padre Palomo Assembly 2419 of the Knights of Columbus presented, FD Junior and the New Cadet Commander of the Phoenix Company, Raine Delos Santos a donation to assist in his educational financial needs.

On April 26, 2017 the FD NJROTC executed their annual Change of Command ceremony at the FD Phoenix Center at 11:00 am. Outgoing Cadet Commander Dominic Salenga is now relieved by Cadet Commander Raine Delos Reyes in yesterday's ceremony as their fellow cadets, family, FD faculty and friends witness this special day.

For the second school year in a row the FD Academic Challenge Bowl team has taken the top spot, continuing their victory streak from last year.

This year, senior Leonard Calvo will visit Japan this summer to participate in the annual Rotary Exchange Club Program.

On April 3, 2017, the Japanese National Honor Society inducted 5 new members into their roster. All 5 are sophomores of the Class of 2019. Each student was chosen based on their academic merit and character and their induction into the honor society is a testament to that.
