Tai September 1, 2017 - Lining the entrance to The Boys´ Chapel, the FDMS Friars welcomed to their campus the pilgrimage statue of Our Lady of Fatima. The visit falls within the centennial anniversary of the apparition at Fatima. Accompanying the image of Our Lady were the missionaries of the Alliance of the Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The image of Our Lady is one of six images blessed by His Holiness, Pope Francis back in January of this year, specifically sent to the continent of Asia and the surrounding areas.
As a part of the visit, the missionaries explained to the students the significance of Our Lady of Fatima´s message, given 100 years ago to the three shepherd children at Fatima, Portugal, and the relevance of her message in today´s society. "Our Lady calls us to C.A.R.E.," mentions Br. Louis, "to go to Confession and renew our relationship with God; to adore our Lord present in the Blessed Sacrament in Adoration; to make acts of Reparation, not only for ourselves but for the offences committed by other against God; and to unite ourselves with Christ in the Holy Eucharist."
As a part of the visit the students at every grade level were able to pray the rosary before the image of Our Lady and they had prayed for a particular intention for each mystery. The intentions ranged on issues with regards to difficulties and struggles within the family to praying for an end to regional and international conflicts.
