The 2016 University of Guam Film Festival (UOGFF) Spring Local Showcase is
a launching pad for original work made
exclusively in the Mariana Islands.
Top selected films will vie for the Best Made in the Marianas honors at the Guam International Film Festival (GIFF) signature fall event in September 2016.
For the second straight year, junior, Dylan
Montalbo has entered a short film for the festival. Once again, Dylan's talent and skill was recognized by garnering a coveted selection spot.
This years' film, title "The Virgin Flower" is based upon the best-selling indie video-game “Hotline Miami”. The main character “Jacket”, receives a message about a gang that has kidnapped an innocent young girl, whom they plan to do horrendous acts to. Jacket, however isn’t the type of guy to just standby, so he takes up matters into his own hands…literally.
The short, 6 minute claymation film contains adult content based upon criminal events. The island premier takes place on Saturday, April 30, 2016, 2:15 pm at UOG Fine Arts Theatre. There is a small $5 entrance fee and Dylan will be avaliable to answer questions after his film. Lastly, "
The Virgin Flower" was selected for viewing in next months Festival of the Pacific Arts.
