On September 22, the Spanish classes participated in a documentary contest to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations. The contest was sponsored by the Hispanic Heritage Association of Guam and the San Vítores FDMS Spanish NHS Chapter. Students selected a Spanish Cultural perspective and researched influences in their local community. The Hispanic Heritage Association of Guam selected the top three documentaries that possessed a clear message; an accurate translation of English-Spanish or Spanish-English as well as those that through video depicted both the Spanish and Chamorro cultures with sensitivity. This celebration of cultures highlights several of our ESLR's, such as to understand the history of Guam within the context of the global community and to appreciate the differences of others.
