FROM THE PRINCIPAL: Songfest, Accolades, Mock Trial, and Schedule updates

Hafa Adai Students, Parents, and Guardians,

I pray that this lenten season has given you the opportunity to reflect on the Paschal Mystery as we approach the Easter celebration.

As part of our effort to assist with the faith formation of our faculty, staff, parents, and guardians, please read the lenten message of Pope Leo XIV.

SCHEDULE

Tuesday, March 17, 2026 - Pastoral Visit by His Excellency, Archbishop Ryan P. Jimenez 
This Mass celebrates the Feast of St. Patrick at 8:15 am. All are welcome. The Archbishop will visit with a few classes after the mass.

Thursday, March 19, 2026 - Birthday of Father Jesus Baza Dueñas 
We will celebrate this occastion with a field trip to San Jose Parish in Inarajan where Fr. Dueñas last served as pastor during World War II and where his remains are in the sanctuary. We hold this field trip every four years. Please ask your son for the details as there is a nominal cost for the bus and lunch.

MOCK TRIAL

In December, the FDMS Mock Trial team won the island wide competition and the right to represent Guam at the National High School Mock Trial Competition. They are seeking support. Please see the solicitation letter. If you would know of an individual or a company who could support, we would greatly appreciate it.

Additionally, there is a lunch plate fundraiser on March 20, 2026. Please support if you can.  

SONGFEST

Songfest is Saturday, March 28, 2026. Please be sure to buy your tickets. This year promises to be a great show as usual.

ACCREDITATION

Our accreditation visit was very fruitful. The visiting team was impressed with many aspects of our school and had a lot of praises for the students, faculty, and staff.

We will be sharing information about the accreditation on our website at http://fatherduenas.com/accreditation in the coming days. The link is not yet active, but please check back soon.

 
ACCOLADES

Congratulations to our varsity rugby team who won the championship on Saturday, March 14, 2026!

Congratulations also to our Academic Challenge Bowl (ACB) team who won the island wide compeition and will be going to represent Guam at the nationals.

Congratulations also to our beach volleyball team. While we had a gold and maroon team, the gold went on to win the team championship with the maroon team taking third place. Kole Guerrero and Jace Aguon were able to beat fellow Friars Steffen Surban and Antonio Egurrola in the team championship match so Friars took first and second in pairs.

Our basketball team worked had all season and they were able to make it to the consolation game.

Often we win championships and sometimes we still find ways to give God glory in the effort we put forth. Our boys did great!
