Freshmen Day of Prayer

To strengthen the bond that encompasses the FDMS Brotherhood, the Class of 2019 travelled to Yigo for their "Day of Prayer". Jovito Carbon, 9th grade Theology teacher, volunteered to chair this special day and with the other freshmen teachers, they centered their theme on the "Golden Rule: do into others what you would have others do unto you".

To begin the day on October 15, 2015, the 9th graders assembled with Father Efren Advasrio in the Boy's Chapel for a class mass and praying the joyful mysteries. Various students participated in the mass as well as leading the rosary. After the mass, the students boarded the charted buses for their journey to the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Social Hall in Yigo.

With the retreat centered on the main theme of the "Golden Rule", the retreat presenters had the freshmen reflect on bible verses on the "parable of the prodigal son" and "the second most important commandment" Love your neighbor as yourself". To reinforce the central theme, the students participated in breakout sessions which included small group reflections, skits, songs and prayers.
