The John D. Forbes Education Fund

On the anniversary of Fr. Jesus Baza Duenas’ birthday, March 19, 2016, Father Dueñas Memorial School will celebrate the launching of The John D. Forbes Education Fund (a.k.a., “The Forbes Fund”) to provide financial support for current and prospective FD students who have demonstrated need as well as support our students academic achievement.. The offering of this grant is a major step in our school’s commitment to making an FD education available to every young man who can best benefit from our program.

This grant also gives our school community a special opportunity to honor a dedicated man, Mr. John D. Forbes, who has given his life to FD in an exceptional way. Mr. Forbes has taught, counseled, coached and supported the mission of FD for the past 57 years of the school’s 68 years of existence. During this time, more than 2,300 friars passed through his classes and were shaped by his counseling. By naming this fund after him, the school desires to honor him for his lifetime achievement and we hold high the value of his dedicated service that he symbolizes for us.

This fund is made possible by many people who have made small, meaningful contributions to FD. These gifts to FD made by alumni and friends of FD have added up to create this opportunity. Thank you.
