Dear Friars,
Exciting days are here! We celebrate
Catholic Schools Week from 29 January-05 February. In true FDMS manner our school will jumpstart this event in the Archdiocese one day ahead of everyone else on Thursday, 28 January with a school-wide Mass in honor of St. Thomas Aquinas. Teachers will be recognized at this Mass for the longevity of their service to our school. Indeed as we reflect on the contributions of our educators throughout the decades of quality FDMS education, we are inevitably led to give thanks for their generous and dedicated service. All these teachers contributed to the identity and hallmark that FDMS Alumni bear witness in our island community. Thank you, dear teachers!!!
Mrs. Angie Lomeli and Mr. Kristopher Cruz acquiesced as school representatives for the 2016 CSW Archdiocesan Committee. Their proactive participation and timely info dissemination blessed us this year. Mr. Richard Alvia has faithfully assumed this role in years past, and we thank him for his dedication. We thank our teachers and staff for your support and understanding. We thank our parents for the awesome partnership and reminders to maintain excellence. We thank our students for your openness to learning and your indefatigable commitment to excel in many areas of opportunity.
I urge everyone to look through the CSW 2016 schedule for exciting activities and important guidance in celebrating this week. More important than the flurry of activities slated for this week, we give thanks to God and we reaffirm commitment to quality education. We uphold Catholic Tradition and ongoing formation in the daily conduct of our lives. God bless you all, and know that you are loved.
