The 2017 FDMS Guam History Day competition was another great success.  84 students entered projects in 5 different formats: video documentary, exhibit, research paper, performance and website.  They had the option to work as an individual or team of two students. Student projects were required to deal with a topic in Guam’s history that related to the 2017 National History Day theme of “Taking a Stand in History.”
Ten members of the FDMS faculty judged the various projects to determine the top 3 entries in each category.  The overall quality of our students’ projects has improved each year.  This year, the judges selected the following 31 students to represent Father Duenas Memorial School at the island-wide Guam History Day competition to be held at the University of Guam on Saturday, March 25th, 2017.  Island-wide winners could have the chance to advance to the National History Day competition at the University of Maryland in June 2017.  Excellent job Friars!  Good luck at the island-wide contest.
