On November 13, 2015, the AP Biology and AP Chemistry students were afforded the opportunity to visit the new hospital, Guam Regional Medical City in Dededo. Mrs. Evangeline Mangune, accompanied the 14 students to tour the new hospital. While at the hospital, the students were able to tour the Research and Testing Facillity where they learned a lesson on urinalysis, blood banks, microbiology, pathology and out-patient blood-drawing. Aside from the labortory the students also visited the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
At the ICU, the AP students met fellow Alum, Dr. Noel Concepcion. Dr. Concepcion spent roughly 30 minutes with the students where he shared his experiece as Cardiologist. He answered the students questions and provided an eye opening experience as to what path to take in their careers after high school.
Alex Lee, junior, says that the field trip to GRMC, Dededo "Is a very in depth and interesting experience and much more hands-on learning than what we are accustomed to in a classroom setting."
Bryan Ho, junior, added, " Dr.Conception gave me a broader understanding on how the admissions system and how strenuous the work for medical school is.
