Football:
Saturday, October 28 - Father Duenas Friars take the boys IIAAG Football Championship against the George Washington Geckos with a blowout 34-0 following a perfect season. The friars fought hard in their final game of the season and ended their season only allowing 18 points the entire season. The third straight perfect season garnered FD the IIAAG all-time record for winning 30 games straight. Congratulations to The Friars from 2016, 2017 and 2018!
Cross Country
The FD cross country team fought hard as they finished the season in 4th place. Cross country standouts included Aleksander Perez, Jason Milan, and Steven Leung who all finished first in multiple races throughout the season. The Cross country team also participated in the Asia-Pacific Invitational race on October 21st.
Golf
The FDMS Golf team played viciously as they shut down the rest of the league in their pursuance of the much coveted 2017 IIAAG Golf Championship title. The battle was hard fought as the friars faced much adversity early on in the season as they started off the season in a draw against St John’s, but would make some adjustments and never look back as they didn’t suffer any losses for the rest of the season. At least until the faced Majesty Christian Academy. They would suffer their only loss of the season in their last game of the regular season before the all island match. In their all island match, the friars would come into the tournament with much tenacity. Led by Brentt Salas, the friars would come out on top with the win and, ultimately, the Championship title.
Next up in the 2nd quarter: Soccer, Baseball, and Wrestling.
