Father Dueñas Memorial School students receive $38,891 in scholarships

Father Dueñas Memorial School benefactor representatives, including the school's Endowment Foundation, presented $38,891 in scholarships for the 2017/2018 school year.

Each scholarship has unique requirements and embodies the school mission, which is to prepare young men for college, foster and develop their faith and leadership in service of the Guam community at large, according to a press release from the Endowment Foundation. 

The scholarships and recipients are:

• Pedro Palomo Ada and Fe Perez Ada Young Catholic Boy’s High School Scholarship, $2,500 a year: Jose Hernandez/junior;
• Triple J Athletic Scholarship, $2,200 a year: Izzic Cabrera/freshman;
• FDMS Millennial Brotherhood Scholarship Fund, $7,200, full scholarship until graduation: Vicente Taijeron/sophomore;
• N. Oscar and Jason Miyashita Family Scholarship, $1,200 a year: Ethan Gaza/freshman;
• John D. Forbes Scholarship Fund, $1,200 a year: Justin Callang/junior;
• Noel Bien Carlos Scholarship, $2,750 a year: Jason Cruz/Senior;
• Father Jesus Baza Dueñas Scholarship, $1,000 each a year: Lennon Barnett/freshman; Kieran Camisura/freshman; Alec Matanguihan/senior; Manuel Palacios/sophomore;
• FDMS Class Of 1985, $7,300 full scholarship for the school year: Kekoa Gamboa/freshman;
• FDMS Class Of 1984 Scholarship, $857 each: Isaiah Reyes/senior; Luke Reyes/sophomore; Izaiah Duenas/junior; Ferenzci Cabuhat/junior;
• Calvo/Fisher/Jacob & Untalan Scholarship, $3,000 a year: Matthew Santos/freshman;
• Grasshopper, Inc. DBA: Fokai Industries (Roman Dela Cruz) Scholarship, $1,435 each: Jaen Paraliza/freshman; Christian Taitano/sophomore;
• Holson & Inez Robinson Scholarship, $2,000 a year: Antonio Gumataotao/senior.
