Today is the Feast day of St. John I, pope and Martyr. He was elected the 53rd pope on August 13, 523. He passed away on Ma, 18, 526 of thirst and starvation in prison in Ravenna, Italy. St. John I, reunited the eastern and western churches by restoring peace between the papacy and the Byzantine Emperor, Justin I.
Fr. Kidd also celebrates his birthday today and in honor of St. John I, he referenced and contrasted St. John and Fr. Jesus Baza Dueñas. As they both were defenders of the faith, instilled peace, and were martyred for their Catholic faith.
God Bless Fr. Richard Kidd on his birthday and many more to come.
