The 2019 FDMS Guam History Day competition was another great success. 82 students entered projects in 5 different formats: video documentary, exhibit, research paper, performance, and website. They had the option to work as an individual or team of two students. All of their projects were required to deal with a topic in Guam’s history that related to the 2019 National History Day theme of “Triumph and Tragedy in History.”
Nine members of the FDMS faculty and two alumni judged the various projects to determine the top 3 entries in each category. The overall quality of our students’ projects has improved each year. This year, the judges selected the following 30 students to represent Father Duenas Memorial School at the islandwide Guam History Day competition to be held at the University of Guam on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019. Islandwide winners could have the chance to advance to the National History Day competition at the University of Maryland in June 2019.
